ANXIOLYTIC ACTIVITY OF CISTANCHE MONGOLICA PLANT EXTRACT
Keywords:
Cistanche mongolica plant extract, depression, anxiolytic effect.Abstract
The detection and prevention of depression and similar depressive states leads to a reduction in the likelihood of adverse outcomes. According to WHO data, after 2020, major (unipolar) depression will become the second most common disease in the world after ischemic heart disease. The onset of depressive states is caused by a disruption in the activity of mediators such as dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine, which are synthesized and released in the brain and tissues. Therefore, the search for and study of various natural substances isolated from plants, as well as synthetic compounds, is of great interest in medicine; some of these substances have been used since ancient times to treat mental disorders.
In the Republic of Uzbekistan, special attention is paid to further improving the provision of high-quality, effective, and safe medicinal products to the population. In the fourth chapter of the Action Strategy for the Further Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, one of the most important tasks is defined as "the implementation of measures for the further development of the pharmaceutical industry, improving the provision of the population and medical institutions with affordable, high-quality medicinal products and medical devices, and preventing an unjustified increase in the prices of medicines."
