Abstract

Medical chemistry is one of the most important disciplines in the education and training of future healthcare professionals. It studies the chemical processes underlying the functioning of living organisms, the chemical composition of biological fluids and tissues, the mechanisms of action of pharmaceutical substances, and the role of chemical elements and compounds in the development of various diseases. Knowledge of medical chemistry is essential for understanding biochemical processes, physiological functions, the principles of pharmacotherapy, and laboratory diagnostics.
