Abstract

This paper examines aspects of improving data center energy efficiency with the expansion of cloud and edge computing technologies. Architectural features, energy consumption benefits of decentralized data processing, and methods for reducing energy consumption are explored. Cloud and edge computing models are compared from the respective of the environmental sustainability of digital infrastructure.
