The railway transport industry plays a strategic role in ensuring sustainable economic growth, strengthening logistics connectivity, and supporting international trade. In the context of globalization, digital transformation, and increasing competition among transport modes, the innovative development of railway systems has become a key priority for many countries. Effective economic and financial mechanisms are essential for facilitating technological modernization, infrastructure improvement, and implementation of innovative solutions within the railway sector.
This study examines the economic and financial mechanisms that support innovative development in the railway transport industry and identifies approaches for improving their effectiveness. Particular attention is given to investment financing, public-private partnerships, state support measures, digital transformation initiatives, and financial instruments aimed at enhancing innovation capacity. The study also analyzes international experience in railway innovation management and infrastructure modernization.
The findings indicate that sustainable innovative development of railway transport requires diversified financing sources, efficient investment management, and integration of advanced technologies. Economic incentives, targeted government policies, and strategic financial planning contribute significantly to the modernization of railway infrastructure and operational efficiency. Furthermore, digital technologies and intelligent transport systems create new opportunities for increasing competitiveness and improving service quality.
