Abstract

This article explores the pedagogical, technological, and organizational foundations of distance education as an essential form of modern learning. It highlights how digital transformation, global connectivity, and the need for flexible lifelong learning have reshaped traditional education into distance learning formats. The study defines the concept, objectives, and principles of distance education, discusses its structural and methodological features, and analyzes the requirements for designing, managing, and assessing online learning environments.
