THE SYMBOL AND IMAGES OF “MOTHERLAND” IN UZBEKISTAN AND ENGLISH PROVERBS

This article studies the symbolic and figurative features of the concept of “Motherland” in Uzbek and English folk proverbs on the basis of linguistic and cultural and comparative analysis. The study analyzes the reflection of the concept of “Motherland” in the paremiological fund of both peoples as a symbol of national value, historical memory, loyalty to the motherland and social unity. The semantic content of the symbols and images used in the proverbs, their connection with the national worldview and cultural thinking are also highlighted. The similarities and differences in Uzbek and English proverbs are considered in a comparative aspect, and the mechanisms of expression of the national-cultural mentality through language are revealed. The results of the study show that the concept of "Homeland" occupies an important place in the linguistic and cultural landscape of both peoples and that national identity and spiritual values are transmitted from generation to generation through proverbs.
