The article explores the category of conceptual markers within the structure of a literary text, examining their essence and functions. Conceptual markers are considered as key linguistic, narrative, and stylistic means that signal the presence of dominant meanings (concepts) in the text and set the framework for interpreting a work. Particular attention is given to the specific features of conceptual markers in Uzbek literature of the post-Soviet period (1990–2020), where they serve as instruments for representing not only the individual author’s worldview but also the cultural and national identity in the context of historical and sociocultural transformations. The study analyzes examples from the prose of Ulugbek Khamdam and Nazar Eshonkul.
